Risk Assessment

Assessments matched to need

A focused question may call for a focused assessment. Where technology is central to the acquisition, a broader investigation may be appropriate.

Technical Risk Assessment

A focused review of the technical risks most likely to matter to the transaction. Designed for smaller acquisitions and situations where a broader review would be disproportionate to the deal, the assessment concentrates on red-flag concerns and identifies where further investigation may be warranted.

Findings explain which concerns warrant attention before proceeding. The limits of the review are documented so the buyer understands what remains unverified.

Technical Due Diligence

A deeper assessment where technology is central to the business or the client’s plans. Nisbet examines the technology, engineering practices, and technical operating environment behind the business, explaining what the findings mean for the buyer and the technical priorities they may inherit after close.

The review connects the available evidence to your plans for the business. We discuss the implications with you, including unresolved questions and areas that may require further investment or specialist review.

Ongoing Advisory

Technical planning and implementation

Nisbet works with buyers to prioritize inherited risks and opportunities for technology improvement. The client’s objectives guide which changes matter most. Available resources determine what can realistically be delivered.

Technology Roadmap

The roadmap sets out a practical sequence of improvements. Dependencies determine which changes must come first, while the team’s capacity informs the pace of work.

Implementation Support

Where appropriate, Nisbet can help put the agreed plan into practice alongside your team. Responsibilities, scope, and expected outcomes are established separately so everyone understands how the work will be carried forward.

Engagement Scope

Proportionate scope

The scope and depth of work are agreed upon before an engagement begins. Effort is proportionate to the questions under review and their importance to the client. Changes in priorities or findings may warrant a separately agreed extension.

Diligence is performed independently. Any subsequent advisory or implementation work is scoped separately and does not affect the conclusions of the diligence engagement.
